2.4 How to Name Names Names are expected to follow a particular format that the J2EE specification accepts. Class and component names should start with a capital letter, continue with a combination of letters, numbers and underscores and not contain spaces. Role/accessor, attribute and operation names should start with a lower case letter , continue with a combination of letters, numbers and underscores and not contain spaces. Certain other combinations are unacceptable, including particular reserved words. These will not produce an error but will be transformed into substitutes. Reserved words will normally have an underscore j appended. It is not necessary to name relations and dataview relations, but if they are named at all event names should follow the standard rules, capitalisation irrelevant. In all cases where names are used as defaults there are ways to override these with user-friendly versions which are allowed spaces and whatever capitalisation you think best. These are called externalName or userNameBase.
