1.7 How to Specify Packages Packages are a different sort of aggregation more to do with splitting things into functional areas. A package can be replaced as a single unit without disturbing the rest of an application installation, however when using JeeWiz this is less of a consideration. Some companies have a policy in how they handle splits by package. The rule is, if you don't have to split things into packages, don't bother. You can specify the default package in the build criteria. If you want to create packages, you can do this by creating a directory/package structure under the model. Right-click on the model in the model explorer and add UML; package.
You can drag and drop items and diagrams already specified at the model level into the package. Packages can be fully specified in which case you will need to model all levels eg com.mybusiness.myarea.myapp.thisfunction would be five levels of nested packages. Alternatively the packages can be relative to the default in which case you would just model the thisfunction package and set com.mybusiness.myarea.myapp as the default package name in the build area.
