1.4 How To Add General Application Information The basic areas that you can model are applications, jars and packages. It is broadly a matter of convenience to decide how much functionality goes into a particular application and when it would be better to split this into separate applications. The rule in RSA is one application per model. Application specifications should be added in the main diagram that has been set up along with the project. You should create the application as a component. You can do this by selecting a stereotyped component from the pallet by clicking on the Component Diagram Drawer in the palette to open it, finding the component creation section, clicking on the arrow on the right, which will bring up a menu allowing you to select a stereotyped component. Then pick "Create new application component" when placing it on the diagram.
Alternatively you can create a standard component from the same place in the palette and add an application stereotype using the Add Stereotype button in the stereotype tab of the properties view. Some modelers do not model the application for some time, however I recommend modeling a basic application specification with the application name and possibly the access name to begin with. This will give you a placeholder and let you find things more easily. The name property can be found on the General tab of the properties view or can be edited within the application symbol on the diagram. Top Tips:
